Well it's finally over. All the adds, the hate, and the rumors are over. Well, maybe not the rumors. America has spoken and they have chosen who they wish to be the President. Whether you like him or despise him, voted for him or not, or wish to move to Canada, you have to accept the outcome. He won by a majority, not by a overwhelming majority, but a majority all the same. So it is time to move on and focus on the task at hand, uniting the nation.
Four years ago the nation was divided right down the center. Either you were on the left or the right. Tempers were high and egos flying. After the dust settled we had a President. Not too long after that 9-11 happen.
This was a moment when we as nation were hit at home. This was a day where we all became New Yorkers, we all became Americans. We knew what must me done. We knew who the enemy and we knew they must pay. There was no democrats, no republicans, just the United States.
Whether you believe in the war in Iraq or not, it divided our nation once again. Not since the Civil War have we been so divided in our great nation. Foreign and also domestic policies divide us right down the middle. This must come to an end, and end right know.
As the Cold War dominated the latter part of the twentieth century the War on Terror dominates or world today and in the future to come. We as a nation have to fully realize what must be done.
It doesn't matter what side of coin you are on when comes to Iraq, for we are already there. We must fight and never give up on freedom and democracy in the Middle East. It matters not if you think democracy will work in the Middle East or not, we must give it the best shot we can.
We must put partisan politics aside, and unite our great nation. We must promote peace throughout the world and bring all of the nations of the world together to defeat terrorism. Peace through strength still runs strong, but we must use our strength wisely. We have what no other nation in the world has, the ability to unite and unite we must. We must attack the terrorist themselves at their heart. Terrorism knows no boundaries, no borders, or any nation. Terrorism is an idea, a belief, but a belief that has a major flaw. The flaw is the inner good of the people of the world and their need for peace. If the good people of the world come together we can defeat these terrorist and bring peace.
Let us join and defeat this evil. Let us tell our President to finish what has been started by others, but to do it correctly. Attack the cells themselves, for the good people will follow. We must win, but win united not divided. Our very existence depends itself relies on no other nation, terrorist, or foreign power. Our future relies on us.
May god bless America.
